What a great day!
Eighty volunteers gathered together to
assemble 250 wheelchairs for the Doit Foundation. These chairs
where shipped from China with the help of the Free Wheelchair
Mission. It was our first day and we were trying to perfect
the assembly line and assemble 100 wheelchairs for our friends
at the Felix Foundation.

The Roberta Felix Foundation is an
organization that develops resources for disabled children in rural communities
of Costa Rica. Most of these special children have few options in terms of
getting the support they need. In addition to their support of disabled
children, we also develop and support programs for children with learning
disabilities and for children who live in poverty, so we were glad to help out
and send 100 wheelchairs. |

What we did not expect is when buses,
ambulances and farm tractors started to come with people in need. All together 60
chairs where applied for and given on that special day.

Many thanks to Don
Schoendorfer, founder of the Free Wheelchair Mission and
designer of the chair, for his vision and guidance through this
process and thanks to all that helped on our mini production
line, truck drivers for pickups and deliveries and everyone
else.
